When I created HerRunningTails on Instagram, my goal was really to combine my love of dogs and my former love of running. Both the dogstagram community and the online running community proved to be such supportive places for me, so I decided to branch out into blogging to take our Social Media presence a bit deeper. Photos, reels, and stories are great, but they're not going to go as deeply as we can in a blog post.
I'm pretty much your typical millennial dog mom. The only difference is that I'm outnumbered by dogs and try to run with them.
My mistake was believing that I could keep up.
I'm obsessed with my pack of *perfect* boys and decided to share them with the world via Instagram. It started off small, just me and Grimm, my Australian Shepherd mix. About six months later, we added Reaper, the Siberian Husky, to the pack. Three months after that, my dad got a German Shepherd, Kai, who I spend too much time doting on since he's "not mine". My boyfriend rescued Rudy, the Pitbull, in 2019 before we met each other, and decided to add Yondu, the PitbullXBeagle, to round out the madness in October of 2022.
When I'm not obsessing over my dogs, I'm a teacher, a runner, wannabe photographer, and a total homebody.
Because let's face it: if my dogs can't come, I'm not either.
Leading The Pack
Grimm
Grimm is an Australian Shepherd Mix who was born November 1st, 2021 in Fort Myers, Florida. Grimm came home on December 27th, 2021 and has been the adorable light of my life ever since.
Eventually we learned that Grimm is a mix of Australian Shepherd, Pitbull, and English Shepherd. He's full of energy, smiles, and has a real love of snacks.
Reaper
Reaper is a Siberian Husky who was born in May 2022. Reaper came home to hang out with Grimm and I on July 9th. Reaper is one of the most affectionate dogs I've ever met, but only with his immediate family.
Reaper's journey with his anxiety and reactivity will probably be a lifelong one, but we're doing our best to appreciate him for exactly who he is. He's known for being fast and sassy.

I'm the Dog Mom. I was born in Michigan and eventually ended up in South Florida. I graduated from Florida State University in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Education.
In 2008 I fell in love with a dog for the very first time. In 2019 I started my love affair with running and fitness. By 2021 I'd fallen off the wagon, and decided that undergoing the Gastric Sleeve surgery would be the best way to take back my health.
